Display Technology and Imaging System
The projector is built around JVC’s proprietary D-ILA technology, utilizing three third-generation 0.69-inch native 4K D-ILA devices. This true native 4K architecture delivers a full 4096 × 2160 resolution, ensuring exceptional image precision, outstanding pixel integrity, and cinematic clarity without any pixel shifting. The advanced panel design further enhances black detail reproduction, resulting in superior depth, dimensionality, and realism across all content types.
Laser Light Source
Equipped with BLU-Escent laser diode illumination, the projector offers long-term stability and consistent brightness performance. The laser light source provides up to 20,000 hours of operation in standard mode, eliminating the need for lamp replacement while maintaining color accuracy and brightness uniformity throughout its lifespan.
Brightness, Contrast, and Color Performance
With a brightness output of 2,300 lumens, the projector delivers powerful, well-balanced illumination suitable for dedicated home theaters as well as controlled ambient-light environments. A native contrast ratio of 80,000:1, combined with infinite dynamic contrast through intelligent light modulation, produces exceptionally deep blacks and refined shadow detail.
Advanced Dynamic Light Power Control allows the laser output to adapt dynamically to on-screen content, with selectable modes including Low, High, Balance, and Off. A manual aperture system, adjustable across a wide range, provides additional control over contrast and light output.
Color performance is equally impressive, with full 100 percent REC.709 coverage and extended DCI-P3 color gamut support. A 12-bit color depth ensures smooth gradation, accurate tones, and reduced banding, while ISFccc certification enables professional-grade calibration for reference-level image accuracy.
HDR Processing
The projector supports a comprehensive range of HDR formats, including HDR10, HDR10+, HLG, and Frame Adapt HDR. Frame Adapt HDR dynamically analyzes each frame in real time, optimizing tone mapping scene by scene to preserve highlight detail while maintaining rich shadow depth.
Additional HDR tools include Deep Black Tone Control for enhanced low-level detail and a Mastering Information Display that shows MaxCLL, MaxFALL, and DML metadata, allowing advanced users and calibrators to fine-tune performance based on content mastering data.
Optical System and Lens
The high-precision optical system features a large-diameter 80 mm lens, constructed from 15 elements arranged in 11 groups, ensuring excellent edge-to-edge sharpness and minimal chromatic aberration. A 1.6x motorized zoom and flexible throw ratio support a wide range of installation scenarios.
Fully motorized zoom, focus, and lens shift provide precise adjustment, with generous shift ranges of up to ±70 percent vertically and ±28 percent horizontally. The projector supports screen sizes from 60 to 200 inches, includes a motorized lens cover, and offers lens memory with five user presets, ideal for multi-aspect-ratio setups.
Connectivity and HDMI Performance
Two high-bandwidth HDMI inputs support data rates up to 32 Gbps and are fully compatible with HDCP 2.3. The projector accepts a wide range of video signals up to 4K60p, including both 3840 × 2160 and 4096 × 2160 formats, along with extensive PC resolution support.
Advanced input configuration options include adjustable input levels, selectable color space formats, and multiple EDID modes for seamless integration with both modern and legacy source devices.
Picture Modes and Calibration Tools
A comprehensive selection of picture modes is provided, including Natural, Cinema, Filmmaker, Vivid, HDR-specific modes, and multiple user-configurable presets. Color temperature options span a wide range, supported by 12-bit gamma processing and detailed gamma adjustment for SDR and HDR content.
Professional calibration features include a 6-axis color management system, built-in auto calibration support, and full Filmmaker Mode compliance, ensuring content is displayed exactly as intended by its creators.
Installation, Control, and Automation
Advanced installation tools allow precise image alignment, pixel adjustment, masking, screen compensation, anamorphic support, and multiple aspect ratio configurations. The projector includes LAN connectivity, USB service support for firmware updates, and full Control4 SDDP compatibility for seamless integration into smart home and automation systems.
Power Efficiency and Acoustic Performance
The projector operates at 280 watts during use, with ultra-low standby power consumption. Fan noise is kept to a quiet 23 dB, ensuring distraction-free viewing even in dedicated home theater environments. Eco mode, standby timers, and wide environmental operating tolerances further enhance long-term reliability.
Physical Dimensions and Package Contents
The chassis measures 450 × 181 × 479 mm and weighs 14.8 kg, balancing robust construction with manageable installation. The package includes a dedicated remote control, power cable, batteries, and a quick start guide, ensuring immediate setup and operation.
