Pro-Ject E1.2
Plug & Play Entry-Level Audiophile Grade Manual Turntable
The Pro-Ject E1.2 is the next-generation E-Line turntable, designed to deliver high-quality vinyl playback at an accessible price point. Handmade in Europe, it combines audiophile-grade engineering, carefully selected components and a straightforward Plug & Play design.
The E1.2 arrives factory-adjusted by experienced Pro-Ject technicians, with tracking force and anti-skating preset for optimal performance. This makes setup exceptionally simple, with no specialist tools or complicated adjustments required before listening.
730g Die-Cast Aluminium Platter
One of the most significant upgrades of the E1.2 is its newly developed 730g die-cast aluminium main platter, replacing the ABS polymer platter used on the previous E1 generation.
The platter is precision-balanced and reworked during production to ensure smooth and even rotation. Its increased mass improves rotational stability and provides a more rigid, anti-resonant platform for the record. This helps minimize unwanted vibrations and resonances while allowing the stylus to track the record groove with greater accuracy. A TPE damping ring further contributes to resonance control.
Pick it MM E Cartridge
The E1.2 comes factory-fitted and pre-adjusted with Pro-Ject's Pick it MM E moving-magnet cartridge.
The cartridge uses a low-mass system with a miniature neodymium generator magnet. Its reduced moving mass improves tracking accuracy, while the conical diamond stylus is designed to provide warm and smooth reproduction with low background noise.
A highly damped ABS cartridge body helps reduce vibration-induced coloration.
Precision Tonearm
The E1.2 features an 8.6-inch tonearm with an aluminium tube and a high-mass gimbal construction.
Its precision bearing system is designed with virtually zero play, providing smooth movement, stable tracking and consistent playback. The tonearm also features a stiff carbon-reinforced headshell to reduce unwanted vibration.
An oversized counterweight is positioned close to the tonearm's moving components, improving balance and tracking performance while contributing to better detail retrieval and bass response. The counterweight is TPE-decoupled for additional vibration control.
Precision Chassis Construction
The E1.2 chassis is CNC-machined from a rigid composite fibre material and constructed without hollow internal spaces. This solid design reduces unwanted resonances and mechanical vibration, helping maintain clean and stable playback.
Damping feet mechanically decouple the turntable from the supporting surface and help reduce the risk of acoustic feedback.
Precision Sub-Platter and Main Bearing
The E1.2 uses a high-precision glass-fibre-reinforced ABS sub-platter.
The main platter bearing consists of a stainless-steel axle and ball operating inside a bronze bushing, designed to provide smooth rotation and low mechanical noise.
Belt Drive and Electronic Speed Control
The E1.2 uses a belt-drive system with the drive belt positioned beneath the platter.
A damped DC motor and electronic speed control allow convenient switching between 33 and 45 RPM without manually repositioning the belt.
High-Quality Phono Cable
A 1.23-metre high-quality phono interconnect is included. It uses OFC copper conductors and gold-plated RCA connectors for a reliable analogue connection to a phono preamplifier or amplifier with a dedicated Phono input.
